Holiday Open House

November 15 & 16, 2008
The Uptown Holiday Open House is a major event for Uptown merchants that “kicks-off” the holiday season for the entire community. Merchants decorate their stores and shop windows and reorganize their merchandise in preparation for the holiday shopping season. The Uptown Greenwood Development Corporation, The City of Greenwood, and Greenwood CPW coordinate putting up Christmas lights and decorations throughout the Uptown area for a festive atmosphere. This is the perfect time to find that unique, one of a kind holiday ornament or home decor item, and wrap up your holiday shopping!
Saturday, November 15th
10 AM – 6 PM—Secret Santa shop at the Arts Center
10 AM – 6 PM —Two Old Bags & Friends 1st Annual Craft Show
10 AM - 8 PM - Greenwood Artist Guild Juried Art Exhibit at The Museum (fee applies)
11 AM – Story time with Santa at the Federal Bldg
11 AM – 3 PM –Santa photos by Memorie Makers Photography
11 AM – 8 PM - Artist demonstrations at Meridian
12 PM – 5 PM – Pencil portraits by Denise Waldrep at Meridian
2 PM – Legend of Sleepy Hollow at GCT
5 PM – 8 PM—Rock N’ Roll Cruisers Holiday Cruise-in
5 PM – 8 PM —Free Carriage Rides

6:30 PM – Lighting of the Uptown Christmas Tree

10 AM—6 PM - Are you looking for a special holiday ornament, a handmade doll for you daughter or unique piece of jewelry? Then you are sure to find it at the Craft Fair. The event features work from area crafters and includes special make and take crafts for kids.
2Uptown Greenwood Gingerbread House Competition
Edible creations of all shapes and sizes on display throughout the Uptown area.
Public judging for People's Choice Award on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th.

Visit With Santa At Jimary Java
Sunday, November 16th 1:30—5 PM
The "Big Elf"himself will make an appearance in Uptown to visit with children of all ages. Kids can make out their wish list while they wait and can share it with Santa or drop it in his special "mail box" to be read later.
Student Art Reception
Sunday, November 16th 2—4 PM At the Arts Center
In celebration of National Education Week in the Arts, the Arts Center is hosting a special exhibit featuring artwork of area students. A reception will also be held in honor of the artists and will feature refreshments and special music.
