Holiday Open House
The Uptown Holiday Open House is a major event for Uptown merchants that “kicks-off” the holiday season for the entire community. Merchants decorate their stores and shop windows and reorganize their merchandise in preparation for the holiday shopping season. The Uptown Greenwood Development Corporation, The City of Greenwood, and Greenwood CPW coordinate putting up Christmas lights and decorations throughout the Uptown area for a festive atmosphere. This is the perfect time to find that unique, one of a kind holiday ornament or home decor item, and wrap up your holiday shopping!
Saturday, November 12th
10 AM - 5 PM - Holiday Artist Showcase featuring a ‘meet and greet’ and demonstrations from the Greenwood Artist and Writers Guilds at The Arts Center.
10 AM - 5 PM - Make and take children’s activities at the Museum
11 AM – 1 PM & 3:30 – 5 PM- Photos with Santa at the City Gazebo— Children can share their wish list and have their photo made with Santa during a fun filled day at the City Gazebo.
1 PM & 3 PM - Story time with Santa at the Arts Center—Cartoon characters come to life during the annual Story Time with Santa at the Arts Center. Children can visit with Santa and as they listen to the Christmas adventures of Charlie Brown and his gang.
5 – 7 PM Bluegrass On The Square Concert - Uptown will come alive with the sounds of folk, country and bluegrass when The Trey Ward Band takes the stage for a one-of-a-kind Christmas concert. At the fountain area.
5 – 8 PM Free Carriage Rides at the fountain parking area.
5 – 8 PM Rock N’ Roll Cruisers Holiday Cruise-in—Enjoy cars, music and more as the Rock N’ Roll Cruisers celebrate the season with their holiday cruise in, featuring a tribute to veterans. At the Fountain Parking Lot.
6:30 PM Lighting of the Uptown Christmas Tree with assistance from the Greenwood Miracle League
Sunday, November 13th
1:30— 5 PM Free Carriage Rides at the Arts Center
1:30— 5 PM Santa On The Square—Children can visit with Santa and share their wish list when the Jolly elf returns to Uptown.
1:30 – 5:30 PM ‘Let Us Entertain You’ - Stroll from store to store, being entertained along the way during the ’Let Us Entertain You” event hosted by Uptown Greenwood merchants.
1:30 – 5 PM Holiday Artist Showcase featuring a ‘meet and greet’ and demonstrations from the Greenwood Artist and Writers Guilds at The Arts Center.
2 – 5 PM Veteran’s Day Parade— Support our troops and honor our veterans during the annual parade!
